THE QUEST  ·  EMERGENCE

Luck

"Chance favors the prepared mind."

— Louis Pasteur

Luck is the quality of recognizing and seizing opportunities, while understanding that randomness plays a role in any creative career. It is not passively waiting for good fortune; it is actively creating conditions where luck can land and being ready when it does.

Activities

  1. Pick up garbage

This is a literal activity. I will pick up garbage in my neighborhood at least once a month. This is a way to contribute to the world around me.

  2. Clean my home

A clean and organized home creates a positive environment that can foster creativity and productivity. It also feels good. By cleaning my environment, I'm also cleaning my self.

See the world as your self.

  3. Volunteer in my community

Volunteering is a great way to celebrate the connection between myself and the world around me. In particular, I should volunteer in ways that connect to writing, such as volunteering at a library or online community.

  4. Stray from the beaten path

I will intentionally seek out new experiences and perspectives that are outside of my usual routine. This can lead to unexpected opportunities and insights that can positively influence my writing.
